One of the most awaited Malayalam movies of the year is Srinath Rajendran’s directorial Kurup starring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. Written by KS Aravind, Jithin K Jose and Daniell Sayooj Nair, the crime thriller is pivoted around the life of Sukumara Kurup who is an Indian fugitive and one of the most wanted criminals in Kerala missing since 1984.
Recently, there were rumours stating that Prithviraj Sukumaran and a few other A-listers will be essaying cameo roles in the upcoming Malayalam biggie. In no time, the rumors started doing rounds especially among fan groups and that is when Dulquer Salmaan decided to put an end to it.
The lead actor as well as the producer of Kurup, Dulquer Salmaan took to social media on Wednesday to make it clear that this piece of information spreading among groups like wildfire is, indeed, fake. He conveyed to fans that he’s delighted to see the excitement regarding his upcoming biggie but at the same time would not tolerate rumours being spread about it.
“It’s encouraging to see the buzz around Kurup and I am really excited to bring the movie to you guys soon. However, there is a lot of fake information going around right now. When the time is right, you will all get to watch the film and witness first hand who are doing cameos in Kurup. However, right now whatever is being spread is not true and I would sincerely request you to stop propagating this information. It isn’t fair to the fans of our stars to have expectations and for us to disappoint them,” Dulquer Salmaan’s post read.
Crime thriller Kurup will also feature Sobhita Dhulipala, Indrajith Sukumaran, Shine Tom Chacko, Sunny Wayne, Bharath Niwas, Manoj Bajpayee and Maya Menon in supporting roles. The forthcoming biggie also marks the reunion of director Srinath and Dulquer Salmaan after 9 years.
