Recent reports have confirmed that director Vetrimaaran has roped in director Ameer of Paruthiveeran fame to play a crucial role in his upcoming film Vaadi Vasal. Surya Sivakumar is expected to be playing a lead role in the upcoming Tamil drama.
While playback singer and actor Dhanush is juggling between ‘Maaran‘ and ‘Thiruchitrambalam‘, latest reports read that Ameer Sultan has been roped in to team up with him in the former. The two veteran actors were seen together in Vetrimaaran directorial gangster film Vada Chennai which was a blockbuster and received several awards including Best Actor for Dhanush, Best Supporting Actor for Ameer and Best Music Director for Santhosh Narayanan.
Vada Chennai story revolves around the character of Anbu (played by Dhanush), who is an exceptionally skilled carom player and ends up being a reluctant participant in a gang war between two rival gangsters. It also features Ameer, Andrea Jeremiah and Aishwarya Rajesh in pivotal roles while Samuthirakani, Daniel Balaji, Kishore and Pawan appear in supporting roles.
Produced by Sathya Jyothi films, Maaran is believed to have Dhanush and Malavika playing journalists in the film. Touted to be an action thriller, the film also features Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat and Krishnakumar in other key roles. Mahendran is expected to play a character with a negative shade in the forthcoming Dhanush starrer.
GV Prakash Kumar is scoring the music for the upcoming investigative thriller while lyricist Vivek and Karthik Naren will be crafting the lyrics.
The shooting of the Karthick Naren directorial Maaran is progressing at a brisk pace and the movie is scheduled for release next year.
