Ponniyin Selvan shooting wrapped up

The team of Ponniyin Selvan has completed filming for the first part of the magnum opus directed by ace director Mani Ratnam and produced by Lyca Production Subaskaran and Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies

The Mani Ratnam directorial was shot across India and the final schedules of the film were shot in Madhya Pradesh and Hyderabad. The makers have now officially announced the wrap of upcoming Ponniyin Selvan shooting.

The stars who participated in this prestigious project stated, “This is a film of a lifetime and can never happen again in any of our careers. We are excited to watch the film.”

The epic historical drama based on the novel by Kalki Krishnamoorthy with the same name has a huge star cast. Viewers will come across an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Karthi, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, Sobhita Dhulipala and Aishwarya Lekshmi. In supporting roles, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu and Ashwin Kakumanu have been featured.

Ponniyin Selvan will reportedly feature Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in dual roles; that of princess Nandini, and her mother, Queen Mandakini Devi.

R Sarathkumar’s daughter Varalaxmi had penned an appreciation post for the Bachchans and shared, “Met 3 of the warmest and most humble people last night.. none other than the gorgeous @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb the handsome hunk @bachchan and their sweetest daughter #aaradhyabachchan Despite the families and lineage that they hail from, their humility and warmth was so amazing, I was just overwhelmed with their love.!!! Bollywood queen Aishwarya, too, recently took to Instagram to share a poster of the period drama and revealed that the entertainer is scheduled to hit the screens around summer in 2022.
