Reports state that renowned actress Tapsee Pannu is set to star in the famous Tamil music composer’s directorial debut.
Taapsee Pannu garnered immense appreciation and positive reviews for her tamil debut Aadukalam which featured her alongside Dhanush. The Vetrimaaran directorial was a great success and bagged six awards at the 58th National Film Awards ceremony, thereby, sharing the record with Kannathil Muthamittal for the most number of National Film awards ever won by a Tamil film. She has since had a steady career in Hindi as well as South Indian films and is now one of the few go-to leading ladies for female-centric films in India.
Strong stories and characters are the actress’s first preference and sources say Taapsee has signed one such new film. The actress reportedly listened to a script narrated by popular Tamil music composer S.A. Rajkumar and has immediately agreed to star in his directorial debut.
Rajkumar was one of the leading music director in the 90s and produced continuous hits such as Vijay‘s ‘Poove Unakkaga’, Ajith‘s ‘Aval Varuvala’ and in most of Vikraman’s films like ‘Sooryavamsam’ and ‘Vanathai Pola’. He has had the ambience to direct a movie for years by now and is eventually set to direct his first movie at the age of 57. The official announcement is yet to arrive.
Tapsee’s upcoming movies include ‘Rashmi Rocket’, Looop Lapeta’, ‘Jana Gana Mana’, ‘Dobaaraa’ ‘Alien’, ‘Shabaash Mithu’, ‘Mishan Impossible’ and ‘Blurr’.
