Boxing champion Mike Tyson has been roped in to join the cast of Ananya Panday and Vijay Deverakonda starrer Liger.
Mike Tyson is expected to be seen in a cameo role in the Puri Jagannadh directorial. Karan Johar took to social media and officially declared the news on Monday (September 27).

Lead actor Vijay also took to Twitter to announce the news, writing, “We promised you Madness!We are just getting started. For the first time on Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle – #LIGER. The Baddest Man on the Planet. The God of Boxing. The Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON. (sic)” A poster was also released on the occasion which sees Vijay and Mike.
In the upcoming Tollywood biggie Liger, Vijay will be essaying the role of an MMA fighter but whether Mike Tyson, the God of Boxing, will appear in a cameo or a full-fledged role isn’t officially confirmed yet. Filming for Liger is in progress in Goa and about 65% of the movie’s filming has been wrapped up. While there were rumours of the film hitting OTT, the actor denied all speculation, making it clear the film will have a theatrical release.
While Vijay and Ananya will be playing lead roles, Ramya Krishnan, Makarand Deshpande and Ronit Roy will be featured in prominent roles.
Touted to be a sports action film, Liger will be released in 5 languages including Hindi and Telugu.
